Mental Health Day Treatment provides a comfortable setting where participants discuss mental health issues that influence substance use, addiction treatment, and learn skills to increase overall mental and emotional well-being. Lake Area Recovery Center in Ashtabula, Ohio offers mental health services for group settings as well as one-on-one sessions with our Mental Health Counselor.
The group curriculum includes several evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Enhancement Therapy techniques. Along with these interventions, the group provides in-depth education on the effects of past experiences, self-perception, positive thinking, resilience, anger management, and effective communication on addiction recovery.
Those who benefit the most from the Mental Health Day Treatment Program would be individuals who have experienced trauma, grief, prolonged depression and anxiety, chronic anger problems, and the inability to control or regulate emotional responses. Individuals who fully engage in the group process will begin to recognize and understand their personal experiences, emotional responses, and behavior patterns and how they influence addiction. As a result, they will then gain the skills they need to reduce intense thoughts and emotions and then choose behaviors that are less impulsive and more in line with their own values.
The Mental Health Day Treatment group is offered Monday through Friday from 9AM to 12PM at our outpatient Ohio addiction recovery center in Ashtabula. However, each client is given recommendations for how often they should attend based on the severity of their mental health symptoms. Clients with more severe mental health symptoms should attend the group more frequently and for a longer period of time.
Our providers offer an array of individualized mental health services using several evidence-based interventions and techniques such as CBT, DBT, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. All therapists incorporate trauma-informed care and Motivational Enhancement Therapy techniques in order to focus on the unique needs and challenges of each client.
